A Proposal in a Hot Air Balloon

One of the most moving moments I’ve ever photographed happened on a cool morning flight.
I was in one balloon, capturing images of another that carried a couple—only one of whom knew what was about to happen.
Our balloon had “Will You Marry Me?” printed boldly along the side.
As we rose side by side above the vines, the man turned to his partner and asked the question.
She looked confused at first… until we turned our balloon to face her, revealing the message.
The penny dropped. Her face lit up, and with tears, laughter, and joy, she said yes.
It’s moments like these that make hot air balloon flights feel like pure magic—and make me so grateful to do what I do.
