On our small acreage farm, five hens provide fresh eggs, natural pest control, and our beehives help the garden thrive. During Australia’s bird flu crisis, eggs sold for $1 each, showing the value of homegrown produce. Our gardens started from bare dirt and now produce vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers, designed for easy harvesting. My dachshunds, though small, are surprisingly effective farm dogs, keeping rabbits away and alerting me to anyone approaching. Guests especially love the Australian wildlife, from kangaroos in the morning mist to wombats at dusk. As a former photographer, I capture these magical moments, offering visitors a true connection with nature.
